My full name is Ceylonia Maria Bekker, but most people call me Lonie. I am currently studying BA Graphic Design at Vega School of Design, Brand and Business. I have a knack for bright and strange yet beautiful illustrations and love creating characters for stories. I believe that there are so many more stories to tell our children and I want to create the characters that will teach them how to navigate and understand life in a fun and creative way. I also dabble in graphic design and poster design. In my spare times I am a kid’s gymnastics coach and adore helping them develop skills, confidence, and perseverance. My interactions with these bright individuals help to inspire my love of illustration and my hope of creating stories that can inspire them to have a positive outlook on life.
